Motherhood changed the way I see everything and it’s the reason I photograph the way I do.
I’m not here for perfect smiles or stiff poses. I’m here for the wind in your hair, the way your child looks at you when they think no one’s watching, and the tiny details you’ll never want to forget.
My style is rooted in natural light, soft tones, and honest connection. I focus on movement, emotion, and the in-between moments that tell your real story.
I want your images to feel like you—not a version of someone else’s Pinterest board.
And I get it—life is chaotic. As a mom of five, I know how hard it is to slow down and actually see those little moments in the middle of the mess. I don’t always practice what I preach, but I’m really good at finding those fleeting, beautiful pieces of your story—and preserving them for you.
Every session is designed to be laid-back and meaningful. I’ll guide you just enough to help you feel confident, but give you the space to be fully present with the people you love most.
Because one day, your kids won’t care what you wore or how clean their face was—but they will care that they were held, seen, and deeply loved.

Booking Process
Secure your spot by completing the form and submitting your session fee. Once booked, I’ll reach out to finalize your session date and location. You’ll receive prep guides to walk you through everything.
For newborn sessions we place your due date on the calendar and schedule your newborn session after you are discharged.

The REveal
Within 2-3 weeks, you’ll receive a slideshow of your beautifully edited images. Choose the collection that fits your family best—each includes digital images and a print credit to bring your memories to life.

Digitals + Printed Products
All EJP collections include both digital images and a generous print credit that can be used on anything from prints to albums, or beautiful glass keepsake boxes. Your pictures deserve to be admired, and I want to make it easy for you.
So much of our lives are buried in a digital graveyard, this is why I am so passionate about clients receiving both digitals and beautiful products to hold, hang, and pass down.
The Session Fee
In order to book, it is pretty straight forward and all online. Submit the proposal, pay the session fee, and sign contract.
Your session fee includes:
- Hold your session date on my calendar
- My time and talent at the time of our session
- Access to my wardrobe & styling assistance
- Online slideshow for viewing/ordering
Your session fee is $300 + sales tax
*travel fee for locations more than 25 miles outside of 28443*

Your session fee reserves your session on my calendar and it is due at booking. All digitals and products are purchased separately after you have viewed your edited images.

While every EJP client receives high-resolution digital images, I also believe in the value of walking away with something tangible—something you can admire in your home each day. That is why every collection contains a generous print credit.
Whether displayed in a handcrafted album, tucked neatly into an heirloom box, or hung proudly on your walls, printed photographs become part of your family’s legacy. They preserve not just how it looked, but how it felt—and ensure those moments can be held, revisited, and passed down for generations.
And the best part? Everything is done for you. I’ll handle the design, the ordering, and every last detail. All you have to do is open the box when it arrives at your doorstep—and relive the memories all over again.

To book your session, first let’s schedule a call to sync dates. Then simply fill out a contact form in your proposal to get started. Once we’ve confirmed the details, I’ll send over your contract and invoice. A $300 non-refundable session fee is required to reserve your date. Once everything is confirmed, you’ll receive all the prep materials to help you feel fully ready for your session.
No, your session fee is separate from your collection. The session fee covers your time booked with Emily for the session itself, as well as the styling and the editing. The collection covers the cost of your final gallery, as well as a credit toward getting your images printed for your home.
No, your digital files are not covered in the session fee. Once your custom slideshow of around 60 images is sent to you, you will have 24 hours to view the slideshow and decide which collection you would like to purchase. Each collection includes digital downloads and a print credit. These images will be the ones that you and your family love the most and will be most excited to have printed for frames on your wall, for a physical photo album, or other products available inside the online gallery store.
I specialize in beach sessions and am known for capturing the magic of our beautiful coastal scenery. I stick to a handful of favorite beach spots that I know will photograph beautifully every time—giving you the best light, backdrops, and overall experience.

All newborn session take place in my home studio in Hampstead, NC.
You’ll definitely get one or two classic “everyone smiling at the camera” shots, but the heart of your gallery will be something much deeper. My sessions are designed to capture real, engaging, joy-filled moments: laughter, snuggles, and the kind of connection you can feel just by looking at the image.
Especially for family sessions, my focus is on creating powerful, emotional images that celebrate the connection you share. We’ll capture the adventure of your family just being yourselves—laughing, exploring, letting the kids be kids on the beach—while you stay fully present to soak it all in. There may be a few sweet shots with everyone smiling at the camera, but the ones that will move you the most? They’re the ones where you’re lost in the moment, holding your babies close, and truly experiencing the joy of your family as it is right now.
I want you images to be as beautiful as possible. I will reach out the day of your session with any weather related concerns. If it is rainy, dreary, or excessively windy, then I will make the call to reschedule.
So many of the moms I work with feel unsure about being in front of the camera—especially when wrangling little ones and trying to make everything “perfect.” But here’s the thing: perfection isn’t the goal—connection is. And the best photos happen when you let go and just be with your people.
I don’t pose you—I prompt you. Don’t worry if you get stuck or aren’t sure what to do. I’ll guide you with simple ideas and let you know exactly what’s working. The best thing you can do? Embrace the power of play, lean into the fun, and let your love for your family shine through. When you do that, the magic unfolds all on its own.
First—take a deep breath. This is so normal, and honestly? I expect it! Kids are curious, energetic, and unpredictable—and that’s exactly what I love about photographing families. My sessions are designed with movement, play, and flexibility in mind, so there’s no pressure for your little ones to “perform.”
Instead of forcing stiff poses, I’ll gently guide you all with prompts and activities that feel fun and natural. Some of the most meaningful, joy-filled images come from the in-between moments—snuggles, giggles, sandy toes, and even meltdowns. Just show up as you are, trust the process, and I promise we’ll create something beautiful together.
The best time to book your maternity session is generally between 26-30 weeks gestation.
The best time to book your newborn session is halfway through your pregnancy. Once you book we place your due date on the calendar and wait for your little one to arrive.
Once they arrive we generally schedule your session for around 10-16 days after discharge.
I don’t offer traditional mini sessions, and here’s why: I believe in creating a meaningful, unrushed experience that allows time for genuine connection and beautiful results.
However, I do offer two petite session options throughout the year:

Simply Studio Baby Collection — Held Friday mornings every other month, these sessions are perfect for baby-only newborn images or capturing milestone moments from ages 0–3 years. They’re short, sweet, and easy to schedule—once you have the link, you can book at your convenience. You can bundle 3 milestones together to capture babies first year for 125 per month paid over 9 months!

Seasonal Sessions by the Sea — Offered a few times each year exclusively to past clients, this is a petite version of a full family session—ideal for updated photos with your growing crew. These start at $625.
